Manuscript Submission Guidelines

                                                                      

1. Commentary:
A commentary is a short analysis of current events comprehensible to both informed as well as readers outside the field. Use of too many tables and graphs are discouraged in a commentary. It is usually between 1000 to 1200 words with no endnotes or footnotes. 

2. ASCON Briefs: 
An ASCON Brief is a concise summary of a particular issue and offers policy options to deal with it, some recommendations on the best option. It aims to give inputs to policymakers in formulating policy. An ASCON Brief is in about 3000 words including endnotes or footnotes. 

The drafts go through a review process. One or more anonymous referee/s review the drafts and their comments sent to the author/s for revision. The final drafts are copy-edited for publication. 

3. ASCON Papers: 
An ASCON Paper is research on very specific topics. It reports an expert’s original research, analysis or review of the research available on a topic. In other words, an ASCON Paper is a journal article that is written in about 5000-7000 words. 

The drafts go through a review process. One or more anonymous referee/s review the drafts and their comments sent to the author/s for revision. The final drafts are copy-edited for publication. 

4. ASCON Monographs:
An ASCON Monograph is a detailed, structured and analytical research on a single subject or an aspect of a subject. It aims to contribute to existing knowledge on the subject. An ASCON Monograph should be between 30000 to 50000 words.

The drafts go through a review process. One or more anonymous referee/s review the drafts and their comments sent to the author/s for revision. The final drafts are copy-edited for publication.

ASCON uses the Chicago citation style for its publications. Some examples are given below.
