The theme of NADI2 is “Celebrating Common Riverine Heritage of the Bay of Bengal: Perspectives from Bangladesh and India“. With riverine connectivity as its anchor, NADI is a series of bottom-up efforts, focusing on celebrating the rivers of the region, with particular emphasis on those between Bangladesh and the North-Eastern States of India and their immediate neighbors and on the fragile ecology they sustain together. The focus is to explore the possibilities of enhancing people-to-people contacts and amplifying the creative use of riverine connectivity by catalyzing environment friendly trade and tourism between Bangladesh and India’s North Eastern Region, expanding towards both the immediate and the extended neighbourhoods. The next iteration in the series will also highlight the synergies of the region with BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative on Multi Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) as the multilateral formation continues to evolve.
